Media Facade Festival Europe at Transmediale 2010

Media Facade is a European project with FACT / Liverpool, m-cult / Helsinki, iMAL / Brussels, Ars Electronica Futurelab / Linz, Kitchen Budapest, Medialab-Prado / Madrid – initiated by Public Art Lab / Berlin and supported by EU Culture Programme. Marie-Laure (iMAL) will be at the first internal workshop and public presentation of the project which will happen in Berlin during Transmediale.

Yacine Sebti at Bruxelles Numérique

From 12/01/210 to 11/02/2010, Yacine presents Move in a Frame at the Municipality house of Molenbeek in the context of Bruxelles Numérique, a moving exhibition proposing digital arts in the Brussels Region.

iMAL at Future of the Lab

Yves will represent iMAL at the Future of the Lab expert meeting organised by Baltan Laboratorires in Eindhoven, 30 Nov - 2 Dec 09. During 3 days, directors of about 20 media labs will debate future strategies and forms of the media lab and the importance of research and production spaces for artists.

The Gate at Fantastic Illusions

From 14.11.2009 to 14.02.2010, the installation The Gate by Yves Bernard and Yannick Antoine will be shown at Buda Art Center Kortrijk in the exhibition Fantastic Illusions, with other belgian and chinese artistes in collaboration with eARTS-Shangai Festival..

Salt Lake and Jump! at the Biennale of Video and New Media, Santiago de Chili

iMAL is invited at 9th Biennale of Santiago de Chili, 20/8 - 13/09/2009. With the support of Wallonie-Bruxelles-International we will present 2 works from Belgian artists Tom Heene and Yacine Sebti : Salt Lake and Jump!.

Chapter 1 - The Discovery at Laboral, Spain

After his residency from April to June, Felix Luque is exhibiting his installation at Laboral Art and Industrial Creation Centre from June 26 up to September 7, 2009. More on Chapter 1 website.

Past Forward is exhibited

The installation "Past Forward" by Nicolas Dufranne, Damien Gernay and Felix Luque is premiered in Brussels (Ixelles), Chapelle de Boondael, from May 16 to 26. More here.

double_skin: Nathalie Fougeras's residency

Beginning of April, Nathalie was in residence to work on double_skin, a project of mixed reality, an installation-performance where the bodies and the spaces are explored together through an interactive interface where a live sound composition is played via an avatar on Second Life. Artifacts of a Post-Digital Age at STRP Festival

Past Forward: final residency in March

The installation "Past Forward" by Nicolas Dufranne, Damien Gernay and Felix Luque has its final production residency at iMAL before its first exhibition in Brussels - Ixelles, Chappelle de Boondaal - in May 2009.

Dark Matter at V2 Test_Lab, 12/3/2009

After a 2nd residency at iMAL beginning of 2009, Tom Heene and his colleagues artists, developers and scientists present their project Dark Matter at V2, Rotterdam. The project is supported by the Art&D programme of Interdisciplinary Institute for Broadband Technology. Project partners are the Center for User Experience Research - CUO (KUL), WICA (UGent), NODEBOX and LAHAAG.

Oups! is Grand Prize at Japan Media Arts Festival

The installation Oups! by Marcio Ambrosio and coproduced by iMAL is awarded the Grand Prize at the Japan Media Arts Festival 2008.

Yves Bernard at the 1st Biennial "Figures of Interactivity"

Yves is a speaker at the first biennial Figures of Interactivity which happens at Poitiers, 18-21 NOV 2008.

Yacine Sebti at Media City, Seoul

from 12/09 to 05/11/2008, Yacine will show Jump! at Media City, the 5th International Media Art Biennal of Seoul. Antoine Schmitt is also there showing its Facade Life work created at iMAL in October 2007

Martini Ground Zero at Netwerk Centrum, Aalst

from 10/11 to 15/12/2007, Martini Ground Zero, the timelapse movie and web project about the destruction of Brussels Centre International Rogier by Yves Bernard will be exhibited with Tourism, the project of Beatrijs Albers & Reggy Timmermans on La Torre Latinoamericana, Mexico. iMAL Video Archives 2000-2006 on YouTube!

This online archive is the result of a first effort to preserve our media art video documentation from 2000 to 2006 and share it with the largest audience. Thanks to Robin Foguenne, our current internship, wet digged into dozens of DV tapes to compile about 40 clips for a total duration of more than 3 hours in the best quality according to the original medium.
